Eclipsazoology - the study of extinct animals

Having spent the past three years evaluating numerous pieces of evidence for rare fauna, I am now proposing that the study of extinct animals be termed "eclipsazoology".

Eclipsazoology encompasses more than simply the search for extinct animals and draws on and contributes to many other zoological disciplines.
