Tasmanian threatened species habitat to be logged...

... if Forestry Tasmania's appeal to a recent court ruling is upheld. Greens senator Bob Brown set to fight the case against Prime Minister John Howard. Affects Tasmanian wedge-tailed eagle, swift parrot and Wielangta stag beetle. Photos.

There are less than 200 pairs of wedge tailed eagles (Aquila audax) left in the Tasmanian wild.

The swift parrot (Lathamus discolor) shares this habitat also.
